Our Story
Sunny J's was established in 1985 in the heart of Plymouth, Michigan, a labor of love by the extraordinary Sunny herself. Sunny christened the establishment with the "J" in honor of her beloved husband, John, and set out on her mission to uplift and empower women from all walks of life.
When adversity struck in the form of a devastating breast cancer diagnosis, Sunny's daughter Rachelle (right) didn't hesitate for a moment to stand by her side. With a deep-rooted passion for helping others, Rachelle, a registered dietitian at the time, poured her heart and soul into Sunny J's, helping all women feel great and look beautiful from the inside out.
As Sunny embarked on a well-deserved retirement in the sun-kissed shores of Florida in 1992, she left behind a legacy of compassion and empowerment that would transcend generations. Her unwavering dedication to the cause lives on through Rachelle, who has now passed the torch of her mother's vision to her own daughter, Anna (left). In 2002, Rachel (middle) joined the ranks of the Sunny J's family, standing shoulder to shoulder with Rachelle as the store manager.
Together, these incredible women continue to uphold Sunny's legacy for nearly 40 years, touching lives and making a difference every single day. At Sunny J's, it's not just a business - it's a calling, a passion, a way of life that radiates love and light to all who walk through its doors.
